While Mrs Reid continues her single handed economic recovery program for the British retail industry, I checked out a few more markets. After a none too impressive start I dropped into Portobello Road again. This time of course it was Saturday and the peak period for the road. A endless shoulder to shoulder phalanx of tourists wedged itself into the confines of the road. I can't imagine what it must be like to live on the road. Saw heaps of great stuff but thoughts of the mountains of bits and pieces at home and the hassle of getting more gear there kept me in check. Weather was cold, windy and pelting rain. A quick whiz around Harrods and Harvey Nichols reminded me how rich some folks are. That and the Bentleys parked outside.
