Travelling on these river cruises is pretty sybaritic. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, food and alcohol are flowing freely at all times and lying on your bed watching the scenery pass by is very pleasant indeed, even with a grey outlook and snow. We arrive in Cologne for Easter Sunday and this saved us a fortune as everything was closed and the oohs and aahhs from Mrs Reid and her mother suggested the shops held many desirable items, thankfully unavailable for purchase. After wandering through the backstreets from the mooring to Cologne's famous cathedral, we made our way back to antique markets beside the Lindt chocolate museum where Mrs Reid indulged her passion for dark chocolate. Back on the boat for lunch and the onward journey to our next destination.
